Friends Take Over Nashville Hotel for Hours When Employees Are Nowhere to Be Found

Last week a group of three friends went viral as they took over a La Quinta hotel when there were apparently no employees working there.

The trio uploaded a video of their few hours working at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Nashville, and the world has absolutely loved watching their hilarious experience. But the story is even more fun than the video itself.

No One to Welcome Them Upon Arrival

According to the three friends, they arrived at the La Quinta in Nashville, Tennessee, where they had a reservation after a night of partying and found absolutely no employees.

They even checked the back rooms, offices, and the kitchen to see if on-duty employees had fallen asleep somewhere, but there was literally no one to be found.

The Trio Sprang Into Action

Once they realized no one who worked at the hotel was there, the friends decided to get to work.

They picked up the ringing phones and attempted to answer questions, fielded complaints, greeted guests, and eventually found one employee, a maid who had no idea where everyone was.

Getting the Breakfast Bar Set Up

As guests of the hotel started waking up and heading to the lobby for breakfast, the friends realized that there was no one there to set up the buffet.

So they did what no one else would think to do—they headed into the kitchen and got everything needed for a successful continental breakfast.

Calling the General Manager for Answers

After setting up a delicious breakfast for the other guests, the friends found the cell phone number of the hotel’s general manager and gave them a call to find out just what was going on.

Apparently, the GM was on a business trip in California and couldn’t explain why there were no employees at the hotel.

The Police Finally Get Involved

Though it’s unclear who called the police, they arrived on the scene shortly after breakfast to find out what was going on at the hotel.

But when they arrived and the friends explained the situation, the cops evidently left them to it, saying, “Do whatever you have to do,” and walked straight back out the door.

An Actual Employee Finally Arrives

After several hours, a real employee of the hotel finally arrived. The friends had already finished the breakfast buffet and checked out any guests leaving that day, and at this point, they were pretty tired from their (make)shifts.

But when the group asked if they could check into their room early, the employee told them they would have to pay a $25 fee.

Feeling Seriously Underappreciated

The friends were in shock that the employee wanted to charge them after all the help they had provided for the hotel, but luckily, a general manager from another hotel under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts umbrella showed up right in time.

The manager expressed his sincere apologies that the employee was attempting to charge the friends and told them, “We’ll get [you] checked in. We’re not charging you anything.”

Things Get Even Weirder

The group of friends explained in their TikTok videos that things got even more strange when they headed up to their assigned room—there was a naked woman inside.

The woman told the group that she had reserved the room for the next two weeks, so the friends headed back down to the lobby to once again attempt to check into a room, this time without someone already in it.

Holiday Inn Manager Saves the Day

The general manager on the scene worked at a nearby Holiday Inn, so when the group returned to the lobby, they said to him, “Can we please just go stay at your hotel? Because this has just honestly been a shitshow of a mess.”

The GM did them one better—he offered them three suites at his hotel as well as free breakfast for all their hard work.

Wanting to Keep in Touch

In addition to the free rooms, breakfast, and a pat on the back, the GM of the nearby Holiday Inn even asked for the friend’s contact information and told them he would be in touch.

One of the group, Kenzie, told the press, “He said he will be in touch. So, I don’t know what that means but maybe we’re getting a Holiday Inn.” Kenzie then told viewers that if they do get a hotel, everyone is welcome to come to stay, and there will certainly be employees around to assist them.

The World Is Loving this Hilarious Story

The general response to this comedic story is overwhelming support for the three friends and the action they took to make sure the hotel kept running, even with no employees around.

And while La Quinta has not yet publicly responded to the situation, most people agree that these three deserve recognition and definitely a free stay at the hotel for their work.
